In today’s ever‐changing marketplace, Healthcare practitioners have a greater need to rapidly adjust their strategies and processes. Information Technology (IT) plays a critical role in making Healthcare more dynamic and capable of driving performance improvements. Adapting to market changes and improving Healthcare performance require an organization to align its operations with its overall strategy. IT has a mission of accurate data capture and timely delivery of information for Healthcare decision making. Therefore, they are particularly well positioned as the process vehicle for operational and strategic alignment. IT can facilitate business alignment and performance improvement for the organization through Business Intelligence. To do so, they must go beyond basic measurement and presentation of historical data and create a business intelligence environment that enhances communication & collaboration and highlights the impact of organizational initiatives on strategy.
